building homes
Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity builds homes alongside families who demonstrate a housing need and a willingness to partner with us. Families invest five hundred hours of sweat equity, which is the time families invest in their homes. When families have a safe, stable home, they are able to devote more attention to job opportunities, education, mental health, and so much more. Their children benefit, creating strength stability, and self-reliance for future generations.
building communities
Habitat for Humanity fosters reconciliation as people come together to build houses, which are later turned into homes. Our worksites are places to build relationships, as well as houses, modeled on biblical principles. Habitat for Humanity’s solution to the ongoing poverty crisis, coming together to provide housing, is popular with people from many political, professional, ethnic, religious, and economic backgrounds. This is the essence of Habitat—inviting diverse individuals to find common ground through using a hammer, sharing a goal, and building relations, as well as homes. As the crushing cycle of poverty is broken, neighborhoods are changed and communities are improved.
building hope
During a worldwide housing crisis, millions of families still struggle with dangerous, unhealthy housing conditions.
Every day, each family still struggles to survive. For them, Habitat for Humanity’s HomeBuild Program is a beacon of hope. Families purchase their homes with low interest or no interest mortgages, down payment assistance, subsidized 502 USDA Rural Development loans, and first-time home buyer’s grants, making the home buying process a little more attainable.
