The Habitat Store is a home improvement store that accepts small and large donations of new or gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, building materials, and more. Proceeds from the sales of these items help Habitat’s work in our community and around the world.

IMPACT: The Habitat Store’s revenue helped build 4 Habitat homes in the Yakima Valley in 2023.

To schedule a donation pick up, please call (509) 576-8077.

We pick up donations in Yakima County Tuesday – Friday during business hours.

To ensure a successful donation please note:

  • All items must be in good condition. Our knowledgeable staff who come to pick up your donation have the final determination if an item is suitable for donation. Should you have any questions please give us a call (509) 576-8077.
  • Our driver may have to decline/reschedule a donation if they cannot safely retrieve.
  • We are currently scheduling donation pickups 1-2 weeks in advance.

Donation drop off hours

Monday- Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

items to donate when renovating

donating your renovation materials keeps functional and often desirable items out of the landfill

sinks, toilets, and bathtubs

If you’re donating a bathtub or sink, make sure that they are not stained and do not have chips in the porcelain. If you are remodeling an older bathroom, your vintage fixtures will be surprisingly popular.

cabinets

Kitchen cabinets should be in good working order: check to make sure that the drawer pulls work, and keep the doors and drawers together when donating.

working appliances

Appliances like stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and washing machines are accepted. They need to be clean and in good working order.

doors and windows

Clean and undamaged internal and external doors including sliding glass patio doors can be donated. Look for holes or alterations before donating. Check for cracks or holes in the the glass when donating a sliding glass door.

lumber

Wood from framing or home improvement projects can be recycled. Lumber must be donated without exposed nails and screws due to safety concerns. Other safety concerns include wood with ripped or sharp edges and some types of treated wood. Larger pieces of wood, including two-by-fours (2×4) and plywood are welcome.

tile and wood flooring

Flooring must be in good condition. Look for clean, undamaged wood flooring with no visible nails and screws. Extra boxes of tiles that are clean and not broken are accepted.

lighting

Clean and working light fixtures, light switches, switch covers, and wiring are accepted.

door handles and cabinet knobs

Keep all the parts together in one bag when donating.
