About Us

Hammering it Down!

Spending time building a home is a great way to volunteer, and the first that many people think of.  No experience is necessary, as we have a construction site supervisor to show you what to do.  All volunteers must be at least 15 years old and have signed a waiver.  Contact the office to have a volunteer application and/or waiver sent to your home!

Make a Financial Gift

Because Habitat is a non-profit, private organization, we depend on the financial gifts made by individuals, organizations, churches, and businesses.  Yakima Valley Partners accepts checks, money orders and credit cards.  Send a check or money order to:

Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity

PO Box 9007

Yakima, WA  98909.

You can also click on the following link to DONATE ONLINE

Make sure to specifically designate "Yakima Valley Partners" in the area indicated on the online form if you want to send your gift to Yakima Valley Partners, rather than Habitat for Humanity International.

Remember, your donation makes a difference!

Fundraising

If you or a group that you are involved in is interested in putting on a (small or large) fundraising event to benefit Habitat, feel free to contact the office and we’ll be extremely glad to provide you with ideas, any needed information, display materials, advice and support.  EVERY BIT COUNTS!

Don’t Dump- Donate!

When you find yourself with used building supplies, instead of taking them to the dump, drop them off at the Habitat ReStore.  If we are unable to use them for a house we’re building, we will sell them to the public, liquidating them into cash, which will then be used to further Habitat’s ministry.

Shopping!

Yes, you too can help Habitat’s ministry by shopping at the Habitat ReStore, which sells used-building supplies at fantastic prices!  Come and check out the ReStore, open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm.  (Located at 202 West Mead in Yakima).

Join the Board or a Committee

Habitat is run by a Board of Directors, and then comprised of several committees (Budget & Finance, Building, Families, Fundraising & Outreach, and Human Resource).  Each committee is led by a chair, with a vice-chair and a secretary along to help.  Committee members do not need to be a part of the board, but all board members need to be a part of at least one committee.  Each committee meets once a month (sometimes more) to discuss committee business and take action in needed areas.  Call the office for more details if you are interested in becoming  a board or a committee member.

Yakima Valley Partners ReStore

I f you like working with people, you can spend time at the ReStore on “selling days” (Wednesday- Saturday) assisting others in their shopping of the wide variety of used building supplies.  If you are more comfortable working solo (or with one other person), with your hands, then perhaps you would like to help organize on a day when the ReStore is “closed.”   Either way, call Rich, the ReStore Manager, at #576-8077 if you are interested.
