Thrivent for Lutherans, an insurance and investment organization working with Lutherans across the United States, along with local churches have committed to another build this year!
We feel very blessed to receive this grant and partner again with these churches. Thrivent participated in assisting with a home in Yakima in 2003 & 2006.
We will begin work on that house at 902 South 7th Street in Yakima on the last week of July as we do the foundation and deck. Then on September 17th, we will begin exterior wall construction.
One of the unique features of this build will be 5 staff from Habitat for Humanity in El Salvador will spend the week of October 8th here in the Valley working in partnership with the local Lutherans. We are excited to learn of their program in El Salvador and share with them the work we do here in Yakima.
